grillz and boy scouts

decipherment by linlah, September 24, 2009

Thursday, last week, Rooster came back to town to spend 5 days celebrating his last month of independence before the wedding.  This included a three day Disc Golf tournement, billards with his friends and about 5 total combined hours with his beloved mom.  His beloved mom is not bothered by this but I thought it was worth mentioning so all the other mothers can be prepared for this when their child reaches this age.  You’re not forgotten, you’re just a place to crash, for free, with food benefits.  And before I get some smartass comment from the Rooster, yeah, he never eats here when he’s home.

Little Missy was here too but headed down to SoCal Friday for some girl fun and returned on Sunday.  Monday night was the wedding shower and Tuesday the tornado headed back north.

Other than seeing the boy for that extended period of time,  Saturday Scout, Neighbor Lady, Fancy Neighbor and  the Little Neighbors, went to the annual car show, local old guys, and chili cook off, local resturants.  There’s nothing better than a chili cook off in the middle of September because it’s nice and cool outside and your looking forward to some yummy fall food.  But it don’t play like that in NoCal cause it’s still so fricken hot in September.

Hello, people who set up this Chili Cook Off  why don’t you move it to October and combine it with an October Fest celebration and have a beer garden for real?

I took pictures of cars, go figure, and then edited them into just the grills and details.  Sort of a theme thing where I practice getting what I think I see.   You can click here if you want to view all the laborous hardwork I put into making them the best photos on the planet.

In reality this photo is my favorite of the all the photos I took that day.

What?  That totally is too a car grill, or a detail or a Cub Scout that can’t decide if he wants to be a Boy Scout, or an Indian Scout, or a surveyor.

Last but not the bit least some photos of the wedding shower.   I took these with a camera I haven’t used in about a year and whose battery I had charged for about 8 hours and the indicator said the battery was charged but it died on me anyway.  Way to capture those once in a lifetime moments.

That cupcake holder tower, I want that and I don’t really care for cake, or ever entertain, or have a place to store a a giant metal cupcake holder tower but sometimes need and want can kick you pretty hard.  Lucky for me I don’t shop at Costco and please do not help me out by telling me some  other place I can get one.

Want and need.  Want and need.  Want and need.

You know I just love cupcakes, don’t you? Yum. Is Little Missy the Bride-to-be? If so, which one in the photo?

P.S. Please join the fun in the “Front Door” Contest. I’m sure your door(and your photo) would be excellent!

  2. linlah says:

DG – Thanks, as long as it’s not human I do pretty well.

Yorks – Little Missy is the bride-to-be and she is the second from the left. Can I take a picture of someone else’s front door? Mine is rather boring. BORING!

CUPCAKE TREE! I want! Oh those boy scouts…as a Girl Guide leader, i can only imagine the sheer chaos that involves a scout meeting.

  4. linlah says:

Candice – CUPCAKE TREE. I love that thing. And I admire your stamina as a Girl Guide leader. ADMIRE!!! Boys are easier, although at the age of 10 they start smelling like sweat and pepsi in a really hot truck.
